Viscosupplementation

Viscosupplementation is using a solution that is high in hyaluronan, which is a natural chemical found in the body and joint tissues, to inject in knee joints to help restore the synovial fluid and prevent further osteoarthritis.  Dr. Glaser currently uses Orthovisc and Supartz at his office.

The injections are done once a week for three weeks and may be repeated after a year.  The majority of insurances do cover the cost of these injections.  If you desire to have this done, please notify Dr. Glaser and his staff prior to your visit.  For more information on Supartz or Orthovisc please visit their websites at www.managekneepain.com or www.orthovisc.com.

Osteoarthritis gradually worsens with time, and no cure exists. But osteoarthritis treatments can slow the progression of the disease, relieve pain and improve joint function. ..^.,
