Biography

Dr. Troy A. Glaser specializes in sports medicine and general orthopedic care. He holds a certified added qualification in sports medicine and completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.  Dr. Glaser moved his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma and joined Central States Orthopedic Specialist in August of 2009.  Dr. Glaser practices at Central States’ office in Bixby and at the main office in Tulsa. He is the team physician for the Bixby schools and enjoys covering athletic events.

Dr. Glaser’s Philosophy: “I use a holistic approach with each patient to not only focus on the injury, but also look at what could have caused the problem.  Therefore, I individualize each treatment plan to get the patient back to where they need to be and to prevent the same injury from re-occurring.”

Dr. Troy Glaser joined Central States Orthopedic Specialists in August of 2009 to open up a satellite office in Bixby, Oklahoma.  Dr. Glaser is the team physician for the Bixby schools and you can see him on the sidelines covering various athletic events.  Before he brought his family to Oklahoma, Dr. Glaser did his sports medicine training at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where he was a team physician for the Chicago Storm, a professional indoor soccer team.  He is also was the team physician for North Park University, Lane Tech Prep High School, and Whitney Young Prep High School.  Also, Dr. Glaser provided physician coverage for the 2008 Chicago Marathon by working at the 20 mile aid station.

Dr. Glaser was the co-medical director for the 2008 Chicago Urbanathlon and 2009 MS150 Bike ride.  Dr. Glaser’s passion for sports medicine began when he was a three sport athlete in high school and played a year of college football at Kansas State University.  During his family medicine residency in Colorado, he pursued a career in primary care sports medicine by working at the base of Crested Butte Ski Resort and covering the Leadville 100 Bike race which exposed him to multiple sports injuries and high altitude illness.

Dr. Glaser has a strong academic background as well by presenting at international conference and publishing multiple articles.  Dr. Glaser prides himself in helping others learn by teaching residents and students.  Also, Dr. Glaser was selected to help review the future certification exam to meet the standards for future sports medicine physicians.  Dr. Glaser is married to his wife  and has a daughter.  When he is not spending time with his family, Dr. Glaser enjoys running, hiking, skiing, playing golf, fishing and attending different sports venues.
